The Canon PowerShot Elph 500 HS is the SD3500's consequence, and it's wrapped with many of the same upgrades found on its siblings, the PowerShot Elph 300 HS and SX230 HS. The PowerShot Elph 500 expend most of its mod money on making sure shots remain bare, and focused when the lights go down. The Canon PowerShot Elph 500 HS also accept; a few other choice upgrades like 1080p and new Image Effects.

There's the LCD—a big, bright, 3.2-inch touch-screen display.The 500 boasts 12-megapixels, full 1080p HD video capture, a fast f/2.0 4.4x optical zoom lens, Optical Image Stabilization, and a massive 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD.There's also tiny mode with 6, 3, and 1.5fps options in both 720p and VGA, as well as iFrame recording.

Canon PowerShot Elph 500 HS gave us an above average video performance, but quality did not change from last year's SD3500 IS. The Canon PowerShot Elph 500 HS will be available this spring for $300.
